放射能に向き合う日々

日本のマスコミだけが報道しない「放射能汚染による福島のニホンザルの血液の異常」

昨日(8月2日)ブログでご紹介した、放射能汚染による福島のニホンザルの血液の異常についての研究調査結果については、世界中の新聞・TVで報道されている。

以下の通り、英語のMediaについて検索しただけでも、イギリス、アメリカ、オーストラリアといった欧米諸国だけでなく、フィリピン、シンガポール、インドといった国でも報道されている。

しかもこの件については、多くの新聞・TVが、学術誌に掲載された研究成果を発表するだけでなく、研究調査を中心に行った羽山教授へインタビューをしたり、チェルノブイリの原発事故による生態系への影響を調査した研究者などにコメントを求めたりして、詳細な報道を行っている。

The gurdianによれば、ジェラルディン・トーマス教授(Imperial College London)は、「この研究では、他の要因による影響と放射能の影響による区別ができていないし、人の健康への影響との関連も分からない。人は猿と違って、放射能に汚染された食物を避けて食べることができる。」と述べており、ジム・スミス教授(University of Portsmouth)は「この程度の放射能汚染はチェルノブイリ原発事故の際に、イギリスの羊においてみられた汚染と同じレベルだが、その際は羊には影響はほとんど無かった。福島のニホンザルの血液異常は何か他の要因によってひき起こされていると思う。」とそれぞれ否定的見解を述べている。

一方Fox News(U.S.A)は、サウスカロライナ大学のティム・ムソー教授の以下のようなコメントを紹介している。

「この研究は、私たちがチェルノブイリ原発事故後にチェルノブイリ周辺に住んでいる子どもたちに行った血液検査の結果と一致した点がある。チェルノブイリ原発事故においては、被曝した人、動物、虫、植物に影響が見られた。この福島におけるニホンザルの研究も同様な影響が周辺に及んでいることを示している。ニホンザルへの影響は人間への影響のシグナルだ、このニホンザルは人間に近い環境で暮らしているからだ。」

「ニホンザルの放射性セシウム汚染は、人間の放射性セシウム汚染より高いが、それは、サルが果実、野生キノコ、虫など放射能汚染が高いものを食べており、汚染度の低い食べ物を食べている人間より多く被ばくをしているからだ。」

「驚くべきなのは、人間への影響を推定し、将来の原発をどうするかといった議論に役立てることのできる調査がほんのわずかしか行われていないことだ。ニホンザルへの影響に対してもっと広範に詳細な調査を行うべきだ」

非常に問題なのは、これだけ各国のMEDIAが広く詳細に取り上げているのに対し、日本国内においては英字新聞のJapan Timesを除いては、全く報道をしていないことだ。

自主規制なのか政府による報道統制なのか分からないが、日本国内のMediaが、国民の目から原発推進に都合の悪い情報をシャットアウトしているのだけは間違いない。

政府に都合の悪い情報を選択的に隠ぺいしてしまう日本のマスコミはもはやジャーナリズムとは言えない。
